Our Year 9 Health and Social care group had a cake and wrist band charity sale as part of their OCR Level 1 Coursework. They raised approximately £130 that was divided between Demelza House, Cancer Research and The British Heart Foundation.
Form Group 6EV are selling Kingston data traveller 4Gb memory sticks for £5.50 – 50p of this goes to Make a Wish Foundation at the end of the year. We have currently sold over 25 of these memory sticks.
Our Sixth Form have had several charity events since the beginning of the new academic year.
A Charity football match, Sixth Formers versus Staff on 14 October which raised £128 for the Help the Heroes charity, a Disney Karaoke also on 14 October which managed to raise a huge amount of £753 for Demelza House. Danny French undertook a 24 hour tennis rally on 21 October 2011, and finally a Halloween Cake sale took place on 1 November 2011, that raised £25 which helped towards the funding of the Sixth Form Prom.
Our Year 11 Hospitality group will be hosting a charity quiz evening in the school hall, at upper school in January, further details to follow.
Year 9 will be organising some fundraising in the New Year as part of their Level 1 Leisure & Tourism course. The event and charity they will be supporting has not yet been chosen, further details will follow shortly.
