At St John Fisher Catholic School we pride ourselves in ensuring that all students are given every opportunity to maximise their learning by attending school regularly and punctually.
The Local Authority has acknowledged the outstanding record of attendance students at St John Fisher have achieved. This is complimented by the commitment of the Student Services Team and its firm effective relationship with outside agencies such as the Education Welfare Officer and the School Nurse.
Every student is treated with respect and any additional support that may be required, where appropriate, is met with sensitivity and care. Children with medical conditions may have health care plans ensuring staff are aware of what to do and where. The Senior Welfare & Attendance Officer is responsible for ensuring medical needs are updated and reviewed regularly, and that support is in place.
All parents are asked not to take holidays during school term time.
Holidays not authorised by the school will result in a fixed penalty notice being issued by the Education Welfare Officer.
There is a dedicated absence line for parents to inform us if their child is not well enough to attend school that day. Any student that we do not receive communication for will receive a telephone call that morning to establish their whereabouts. On return to school a letter confirming reasons for absence is required.
Regular school attendance provides the opportunity for students to achieve their full potential allowing them to make sound choices for their future.
To report an absence please contact the school by telephone on: +44 (0) 1634 335797
