Students during a lesson

Travel and Tourism

Travel and Tourism lessons are taught to years 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 and are taught in a dedicated room on the main site. This room is equipped with computers and plenty of tourism resources.

In years 9, 10 & 11 students have 8 lessons a fortnight and study OCR Nationals. At A level students have 9 lessons a fortnight in years 12 & 13. At OCR Nationals in year 12 students have 15 lessons a fortnight.

The OCR Nationals is worth 4 GCSEs and is taken over one year in year 12 (this has to be taken in conjunction with two other level 2 courses, Business Studies and ICT). Year 9 start with the level 1 course and progress to the level 2 course which is continued in years 10 and 11.

The nature of the subject means we have to undertake educational visits which are usually Chessington in year 9, Thorpe Park in year 10, Paris and Disney Paris in year 11, Colchester Zoo in year 12 and Malta in year 13.
